Job Description:

This is an executive level professional position responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing the relationship between HOC and the public.  Will act as liaison with media, community groups, general public, and elected officials by responding to inquires, resolving problems, explaining programs or policy decisions and obtaining support from these sources to assist in passage of legislation beneficial to HOC.

Preferred Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in public relations, writing or legislative monitoring.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or project management level experience.
  • Outstanding human relations and leadership skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
  • Must have ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
  • Must have Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn about programs at HOC.
  • Must have Knowledge of County organizations, local and state government.
  • Must have Knowledge of current legislation impacting HOC's programs.
  • Must have Knowledge of the principles and practices of journalism, public relations.
  • Must have Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite)
